The Ashok Piramal Group traces its legacy to one of India's most respected and renowned entrepreneurial family, the Piramal family. Today, Morarjee is a leading player in the textile industry, making premium shirting fabric and high fashion printed fabric and premium voiles for the Middle East, Far East, North African and European markets. With a printing capacity of 14 million meters per year, Morarjee textiles is further expanding its presence in the top end printed fabric and shirting segment.

Identifying real estate as the next growth driver, the Group forayed into this sector through Peninsula Land Limited. The first company to develop cotton textile mill land after it was opened up for development in Mumbai; Peninsula virtually transformed the face of the area into a new age business district with Peninsula Corporate Park. Some of the other outstanding projects underway include Peninsula Business Park, Peninsula Technopark and the development of Special Economic Zones in Goa and Pune. Already present in five cities, the company is aiming at expanding its geographical presence in Southern India as well and working towards becoming a major player in developing the new face of India.

The engineering business has diversified into profitable companies - Miranda Tools and PMP Auto Components. Miranda Tools, equipped with state of the art technology for producing precision cutting tools, was the first Indian company to have been awarded the ISO 9002:1994 certificate by BVQI for all its products. PMP Auto Components, another one of our companies, is a major supplier of Alternators, Oil Pressure Switches and Windshield Washer Systems to Indian OEMs. Today, PMP is the single supplier of oil pressure switches to every OEM in India with an Indian market share of over 70%.

The Ashok Piramal Group has also launched the ‘Pune Football Club’ to fuel the talent and aspirations of budding football players who are looking at making a mark in the Indian National League (I-League).
